Update 1

Someone who got in touch with Skype chat support got the following response.

It seems this is an emerging issue now globally. We are having massive reports with same issue

Meanwhile, some users say old version of Skype (available here: https://web.skype.com/en/) works fine. Do give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Update 2

For some users, the service is back to normal now.

It's working again for me!

β€” Sue Trowbridge (@trow125) February 20, 2019

But we’re still keeping a close eye.

Update 3

The official Skype Twitter account confirms the outage has been fixed.

Hi, Angela. There has been a temporary glitch a moment ago that was already fixed. Please check it on your end.
